Bill 1548
(introduced by Senator Charles Dean) would impose a
state-wide restriction on overnight anchoring within 200 feet of the
high water mark of residential property, severely limiting access to
state waters. House
Committee Bill PCB HWSS 15-06
(introduced by Representative Holly
Raschein) deals with derelict vessels without changing current anchoring
law. Go to the PGSC website and read more. Included is a BOAT US guide to write your representatives.

Alternate South Cruise

The annual PGSC South Cruise of short destinations (1-3 weeks) will be for boats that would like more destinations and stops and not going to the Florida Keys or Bahamas.  The Keys and Bahamas groups are organized to depart on April 6th and planning meetings are scheduled per the email blast. The Alternate South Cruise will start at Pelican Bay and head south to York Island, stops up the Caloosahatchee River, then to Old Fort Myers, on to Fort Myers Beach, Naples, Marco Island with options to Goodland and Everglades City.  The cruise will leave Pelican Bay sometime the end of the week of April 6-10 with boats going to Pelican Bay anytime during that week. Details will be decided at the planning meeting.
