The last few Punta Gorda Sailing Club racers still in town, got together Sunday , May 19, to hold an informal fun race in Charlotte Harbor. At 2:30 PM the race began with the highest handicap rating the first to start. The fastest boat in the fleet was the last to cross the start line by marker #2. Light winds became almost nonexistent by the time any boats made it to the first mark, and shortly after that, the Race Co- Capt. called a shorter race course, so we could all get back to the dock before dark. Jim Nuzzo on board “H-2O” took honors. The folks that could, attended a gathering at Beef O’Brady’s for a debrief and some fun.get boats tuned up for our Fall and Winter club 1.
In September, we intend to begin our fun racing series to get tuned up fall and Winter series.
See you on the water.
